Children Arrival and Dismissal
As you know, GoPad is designed to work offline or when internet connection is unreliable. State guidance suggests that, when feasible, programs “have staff receive the child or camper from the parents/guardian at the beginning of the day and bring the child/camper out to the parent/ guardian at the end of the day.” If you choose to admit and dismiss children from an outside area, GoPad will record the time of arrival (including health check information) and all dismissal details without the need for a WiFi connection. Note that the WiFi should be turned off before remote use of the software. If parents have opted for arrival and dismissal notifications, they will receive the message with the accurate timestamp later, once the device is back online.
Recommendation for Checkin/Checkout
We recommend that upon dismissal teachers select the caregiver authorized in GoPad and either 1) sign for the parent/caregiver or 2) wipe the touch screen with disinfectant wipes in between students.
Daily Health Screening
The State has mandated that programs implement a health screening assessment before admission to the building by employees, visitors, and children/students.
Daily Health Check for Children Recommendation
We suggest that all administrators utilize the “health check” feature which is activated in the settings (shortcut: click school logo to view settings and enable health check near the bottom of the page). As each child arrives and is swiped “in”, the health check screen will open. Click “No” and the notes window will appear. You can then 1) record the temperature of each child, and 2) document that screening questions** have been asked and responses reviewed by the responsible staff member. Click submit and the data will be stored in the log. To ensure the integrity of your log, no child should be marked “checked in” until these steps have been taken. All data entered into the health check pop up is contained in the searchable database.
Parents COVID-19 Acknowledgement:
We are in the process of adding four “Acknowledgements/Agreements” to the GoPad Parent Portal.
Parents will be required to initial and date the following four affirmations:
- I agree that I will notify the school/ program if I have knowingly been in close or proximate contact in the past 14 days with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 or who has had symptoms of COVID-19;
- I agree that I will notify the school/ program if I or anyone in my household has tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 14 days;
- I agree that I will notify the school/ program if I or anyone in my household has experienced any symptoms of COVID-19 in the past 14 days, including but not limited to: fever or chills, shortness of breath, persistent cough, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea.
- I understand that I will be required to answer screening questions regarding the above each day before my child can be admitted to the school/ program facility.
Additionally, as you reopen, you may choose to utilize the “Notification” feature to send a reminder email or text messages to all parents and/or faculty with the touch of one button.
Contact Tracing and Visitors
Government guidance recommends that facilities “maintain a continuous log of every person, including employees, parents/guardians, children, and any essential visitors who may have close or proximate contact with other individuals at the work site or area…” Through the “front desk” module (included in your subscription) you can track and keep visitor contact information in the searchable database in the event you would have to assist authorities with contact tracing.
The “front desk” module gives you the ability to maintain and search a log of all visitors who may have close or proximate contact with your staff and students. In the event that someone related to your program tests positive for COVID-19, you will be able to comprehensively and efficiently assist local authorities in contact tracing efforts. Below we review the ways that GoPad can assist you in compliance with government guidance.*

**The guidance requires that at a minimum parents and guardians are given a questionnaire each day that determines whether the child or member of his or her household has “(a) knowingly been in close or proximate contact in the past 14 days with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 or who has had symptoms of COVID-19; (b) tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 14 days; and/or has experienced any symptom of COVID-19 in the past 14 days.”
